Causes, Treatments, and Ways to
Achieve Clearer Skin

Spider veins are those clusters of blue, red or purple veins that appear under the skin, usually on the legs but often on the face as well. They usually appear in a web-like pattern, which is why they are referred to as spider veins. These unsightly veins are more formally known as telangiectasia, and if not in a web pattern, may just be called broken capillaries. Regardless of what you call them, most people would like to see them gone.

How Are They Caused?

This skin concern occurs when the valves in these veins fail to allow blood to flow through properly, and the blood gets backed up and pools in these veins. Why this happens in certain people and not others is unclear, although heredity and obesity may be important factors. These veins are no longer useful, so it is perfectly safe to get rid of them to improve your appearance.

How Can Spider Veins Be Treated?

We have seen a lot of success treating spider veins with the Revive Hat Trick treatment. This treatment uses Intense Pulsed Light to identify and eliminate discolorations in the skin. The Revive Hat Trick treatment combines this with fractional laser resurfacing to stimulate collagen production and smooth the skin. The Revive Hat Trick treatment for spider veins is fast, non-invasive, and may only come with some mild discomfort.

Another treatment option for spider veins is the InMode Lumecca Peak Advanced IPL.
